The Matthiasson ‘Tendu’ Red is a blend of Barbera, Anglianico, Montepulciano, Carignane and Cinsault. The wine is fermented with native yeasts in stainless tanks and aged in used barrels for 5 months for finishing. On first appearance, the wine shows off a light ruby color with a strawberry colored rim in the glass. It has a fresh nose of cranberry, cherry, wild raspberry, red currant fruits with floral hints, green herbs and mint. The mouthfeel is elegant, fresh and delightful featuring savory, precise red fruits that cuts through the center of the palate helping give it balance and a tender finish. This is a delicious wine to serve at cellar temperature with a slight chill and feel free to serve it up with chicken mole coloradito, raspberry glazed grilled shrimp tacos or a Greek slow roasted lamb.
