2016 – Intense garrigue infused plummy red berry aromas of raspberry compote, red currants, blackberry, blueberry layered between notes of white pepper, rosemary, olive tapenade and earthy minerals. This southern French red is bold on the palate with saturated red berry fruits, hints of Mediterranean herbs, spices and wild flower, ending with a strong, dry finish with well established tannins. Definitely not a wine just to sip, this grabber demands a richly spiced beef roast, steak au poivre, lamb shank in a madeira redux or perfectly seared venison.–Finn
